An Investigation of Resilience Mediation Role in Relationship between Personality Traits and Welfare in Students of Islamic Azad University, Ilam Branch

Abstract

The present study was done with the goal of investigating the role of resilience mediation in relationship between personality traits and welfare in students of Islamic Azad University, Ilam branch. Research descriptive method was correlation type. The research statistical population included all the students of Islamic Azad University, Ilam branch, in 2017-2018, that were about 4200 people, by which 351 people were selected using Morgan table as sample size, with multi-stage cluster random sampling method. Five Personality Traits Assessment Questionnaires (NEO), Connor - David resilience scale, Oxford Welfare Questionnaire, were the means used in the research. Data analysis conducted by Pearson correlation coefficient and Multivariate regression test; and resilience as a mediator variable and personality merits (Psychosis, extroversion, agreement, openness to experience, having moral sense) with welfare of the findings shows, when the resilience variable adds to personality merits as a predictable variable, it makes the regression coefficient of the first variable (personality merits) meaningless. This status confirms resilience mediator in this regard, then providing necessary educations about this must be prepared by relevant organizations for students.
