Publication Fees

Overview

The Archives of Pharmacy Practice operates under a fully open-access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication — with no subscription barriers for readers anywhere in the world.

To sustain the editorial and production infrastructure required to maintain this access model, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) upon acceptance of their manuscript. Submission to the journal is free of charge; the APC is invoiced only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and been accepted for publication.

Standard APC

USD 340

Charge covers

  • DOI assignment and registration

  • Galley proof preparation

  • Professional copyediting

  • Permanent open-access hosting

Note: The APC applies per accepted manuscript. Submission is free and authors are not charged at the point of submission. The charge is due only upon acceptance.

Waiver Program

Fee Waivers for Low- and Middle-Income Countries

To promote equitable global participation in scholarly publishing, the journal provides APC waivers for authors from low- and middle-income countries. Waiver eligibility is determined by the corresponding author's institutional affiliation at the time of submission, in alignment with the Research4Life eligibility framework. Authors must request a waiver during the manuscript submission process.

GROUP A — FULL WAIVER

Up to 100%

Authors affiliated with Group A institutions may apply for a full waiver of the standard APC during the submission process.

GROUP B — PARTIAL WAIVER

Up to 50%

Authors affiliated with Group B institutions may apply for a partial waiver of up to 50% of the standard APC during submission.

Important: Waiver requests from countries outside of the two tiers described above may not be considered. Eligibility is assessed solely on the basis of the corresponding author's listed affiliation — not the author's nationality or place of residence.

Withdrawal Policy

Manuscript Withdrawal Terms

Authors may request withdrawal of a submitted manuscript in accordance with the journal's withdrawal policy. The applicable terms depend on the stage of the editorial process.

a) Before Preliminary Review

A manuscript may be withdrawn without penalty before the preliminary editorial review or peer-review process has commenced. No withdrawal fee will be charged at this stage.

b) After Preliminary Review or Peer Review Has Commenced

Once the preliminary editorial assessment or peer-review process has commenced, substantial editorial, administrative, and peer-review resources may have been devoted to the manuscript. Authors requesting withdrawal at this stage will therefore be required to pay a withdrawal fee equivalent to the journal's standard Article Processing Charge (APC), currently USD 340 per manuscript.

c) After Acceptance

Withdrawal after acceptance is strongly discouraged and will be considered only in exceptional circumstances. Any such request must include a clear justification and confirmation from all authors. If the withdrawal is approved, a withdrawal fee equivalent to the standard APC (USD 340) will apply.

d) Published Articles

Once an article has been published, it cannot be withdrawn as a manuscript. Any concerns regarding a published article will be handled in accordance with the journal's policies on corrections, retractions, and publication ethics.
